Are We In The 5th Wave?

Hello Loverlies! If you pay attention to my Instagram or Twitter you will have seen I was reading The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. Yes, I have finally finished it. It was a thick book but worth the read!

Book Review on The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey from www.enchantedexcurse.com

GoodReads Synopsis:

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one. Now, it's the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth's last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie's only hope for rescuing her brother--or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

My Review: It took me a bit to get through this book, but you can blame my medications for that. They make me sleepy very easily, But once I finally finished this book I thought, I need the next book now! I found this book a very interesting take on an alien invasion. Very sad, but great plot on it. I did find out during each spot they have a page with stars in between, well that starts another person's point of view. It starts their story during the alien invasion. It can easily get confused who is speaking, but as soon as you read a paragraph of it you will understand who is talking. There is some making out in this book and a part where shrapnel is being taking out of a butt. Other than that there really isn't any smut in this book. I can't say anything yet about the next two books. There is violence in this book, but I think it's the same amount as you would see in the Divergent series. This book had me on edge the whole time. I think it is a great read if you are into these Dystopian style of books. I am very curious how the next book will be like. Go ahead and grab this book. Give it a read and let me know what y'all think. :) Have a Blessed Day!

Spoilers: I did find the part where Cassie met Evan to be long, but maybe this book needed it to be long. It was a sweet romance between them, who would have thought that the alien would have fallen in love with her? I kind of like that plot. But for the longest I still thought we couldn't trust his character. I am very sad about the end of it, I sure do hope that he survived. I do wish it ended a little different. But of course they have to end it by leaving you hanging. I am not for sure about the kiss ben gave her at the end either. I thought he had a thing for Ringer and it makes me a little sad because They had two perfect couples. But Evan had to go and save the day. I guess I shall see if he is still alive in the next book.
