www.enchantedexcurse.com Book Review for She Reads Truth: Holding Tight To A Permanent In A World That's Passing Away by Raechel Meyers and Amanda Bible Williams, complimentary from B&H Publishing. Provided I give an Honest Response.

I wanted to share the video that is shown on B&H Publishing for this book. It gives a good look at what you are going to be getting out of this book. It also introduces the authors of the book.

My Review: I always enjoy getting to read new books or Bible studies from She Reads Truth. I am also excited to see whatever new happens with this ministry. This book basically is Meyers and Williams telling about some of the rough times of their lives growing up and what they still go through now. Even though they share these parts of their lives with us, they also point out how through it all God is always the same. Even though we have the ups and the downs, we have our Bible and Prayer to show us that God is Truth. He is always there with/for us, and he will always be. One thing I like is that they share scripture they have read over and over to help them get through these struggles. Scripture that proves he is Truth. I do recommend this book if you are all about the Bible and the Truth of God. Also if you have/had struggles in your life, it is always interesting to read about other's stories and how they got through it. It shows no one is perfect and we all have downfalls etc. But the one thing that will help us get through it is our faith in God. Here is a LINK to purchase your own copy! Have a blessed Day!

Look For Your Loverly

Disclosure: I received Looking For Lovely: Collecting The Moments That Matter by Annie F. Downs. Given complimentary from B&H PublishingProvided I give an honest review.

http://www.bhpublishinggroup.com/products/looking-for-lovely

Synopsis from B&H Publishing:

“I want you to take every step of your life with excitement for where you are headed. And I want you to feel beautiful and confident as you do.” But how? When the enemy whispers lies that we are not smart enough, pretty enough, or rich enough? Or are you too dumb, too loud, too quiet, too thin, too fat, too much or not enough? What if you don’t have what it takes to be who you really want to be?” In Looking for Lovely, Annie Downs shares personal stories, biblical truth, and examples of how others have courageously walked the path God paved for their lives by remembering all God had done, loving what was right in front of them, and seeing God in the everyday–whether that be nature, friends, or the face they see in the mirror. Intensely personal, yet incredibly powerful, Looking for Lovely will spark transformative conversations and life changing patterns. No matter who you are and what path God has you on, we all need to remember the lovely, fight to finish, and find beautiful in our every day!

My Review: I felt like I understood a lot of the insecurities and situations that this author has gone through. She shares experiences of her life where there were ups and downs and basically points out where she found her lovely. She describes where and how to look for those lovely areas and times in your life. Even in the worst experiences you have had in your life.

I found it interesting how she could do this, but I know it's still really hard for me to find the lovely in my darkest moments. Sometimes I can't understand why God has allowed certain things I have went through to happen. I may never figure it out until I get to heaven. But we just have to try to stick with God and learn to trust and have faith in him. I am sure there is always a reason why someone has gone through this event or that event. Be it for them to grow from or to share with others so they are not alone. But yes there are a lot of areas that are difficult to understand.

I found reading this book, okay. It was interesting learning about situations of life Downs experienced. I am sure this book has spoken to other people whom have read it, but it just didn't really speak to me. I didn't get that "aha" moment that I expected I was going to get. Other than that it is a very pretty cover and I do believe that there is a study guide you can buy to go along with it. Maybe I will do that later on and reread it with the study guide. My Review: I found this book interesting when the author is talking about how she started on her journey of learning not to quit. I have issues with quitting at times and procrastinating. She explains how her husband pointed out to her how she quits with nearly everything. She also starts asking herself is she quitting with God and every part of her life? She writes out 5 habits of how not to quit. The 5 habits are: 1. She accepts the assignment of refinement 2. She follows through with her commitments despite how she feels 3. She stays open to the movement of God 4. She gives others what she needs 5. She moves forward in faith. With each of these habits she explains about her life and how she used started to use these habits. I also enjoy how she puts in scripture here in there about the faith of Ruth, because Ruth is such a great role model for us to be like. I will say this book was a tad on the slow side for me to read and I must reread it myself. I may get more out of it the second time I read it. But for now I will give this book an okay rating. But you never know it may help you if you deal with issues of quitting. If this book intrigues you, you can purchase it at this LINK. Have a Blessed Day!

Steadfast Love

Disclosure: I was given Steadfast Love by Lauren Chandler complimentary from B&H Publishing. Provided I give an honest review.

Hello Loverlies! Steadfast Love. Steadfast Love was hard for me to finish. I believe it was hard for me to keep reading because the introduction made me think the book would be about how the author got through life's struggles with God's steadfast love. Most of the chapters were talking about different people in the Bible and certain struggles they went through. I felt it could have been written better to show the theme of the title of the book. Maybe I am missing something and just need to reread it. It could easily be one of those books where I just need to reread to focus better on it. When I finally started seeing the author talking about her struggles, and how she prevailed through them in the last few chapters. I found that the most interesting part of the book. I sadly just wish it was that way through the whole book for me. I believe this will be a book I will give to a friend who will enjoy it better than me, Because everyone has their own views of different books. If it can help that friend when I couldn't get it, I feel than it is better in other hands. I do enjoy the cover of the book, I believe it is nicely created. I just wish I could say more positives about it. If you are interested in trying the book out for yourself, click this LINK to find where to purchase it. Have a Blessed Day!

 GoodReads Synopsis:

"Sometimes He wrings the worship from our hearts." There are times when worship overflows easily and effortlessly from a heart full of gratitude and praise. Yet, there are other times when God seems far and we feel we have nothing left to offer. We are tired, or thirsty, or imprisoned in our own chains through our own devices, or caught in the waves of a tumultuous sea. This is when God shows us His steadfast love. He wraps His eternally powerful, ultimately creative, nail-scarred hands around our hearts and squeezes with appropriate might—yielding an honest plea for Him to save us and deliver us from our circumstances, fears, and self control. And He does. He initiates with His steadfast love, and responds with the same. Walk with Lauren as she shares what she has learned of the steadfast love of the Lord.

Get Fervent About Your Prayer

Disclosure: I received Fervent: A Woman's Battle Plan for Serious, Specific, and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer complimentary from B&H. Provided I give an honest review.

Hello Loverlies! Has anyone seen The War room yet? Sadly, I have not yet to see it. But I will make sure to see it when it comes out on dvd, which I hear it should be in December sometime. I did get the chance to read Fervent: A woman's Battle Plan for Serious, Specific, and Strategic Prayer by Priscilla Shirer. What did I think about it? I loved it. It is definitely a reread, reuse type of book.

Shirer explains there are 10 different prayer strategies, and then goes into explaining deeper about each strategy in each chapter. Which I think is great if you are wanting to delve deeper into praying. (This book goes along great with the movie I am told.) I will agree she does write these strategies of prayer like we are in war. In which, we are in war with the enemy of God. I need to get my praying combat boots on and pray better, longer, and harder. She sure hit me in some hard spots of prayer I need to deal with.

Here are the Prayer Strategies the author talks about:

 Strategy 1: Your Passion
Strategy 2: Your Focus
Strategy 3: Your Identity
Strategy 4: Your Family
Strategy 5: Your Past
Strategy 6: Your Fears
Strategy 7: Your Purity
Strategy 8: Your Pressures
Strategy  9: Your Hurts
Strategy 10: Your Relationships

I think this is a wonderful book and I am sure I will reuse and reread it. In the back of this book there is a section where you can write down notes. There are also perforated prayer papers you can tear our and write out your own prayers on to them. What I did is I hung up a cute little bulletin board in my closet and thumbnailed some of my prayers to it already. If you are wanting to up your praying to a war level skill, get this book. You will be glad you did. You can purchase your copy HERE. Have a Blessed Day!
