The Here And Now

Afternoon Loverlies! I just finished reading The Here And Now written by Ann Brashares. I will state what I am about to write is an early spoiler, don't say I didn't warn you. After getting passed the first chapter I started to understand it better. I just confuse easily and how it first starts out is basically when Prenna first comes to the earth but at a different year. Her family and community had to time travel to the past for reasons I will not state, because I don't want to give away the whole book. Y'all will just have to read it to see the reasons. ;)

This book was very easy and quick to read. I enjoy a book that is fast to read so I can get on to the other. I get distracted very easy with other things in my life, and I think it helps me keep focused when I feel I can just get through a book and onto the next story! I really enjoy seeing what story this book is going to have and that book is going to have. I found it to be a very interesting book, even though it is kind of scary. I say scary because of what it talks about I see that could easily be a future of our earth. Also where it talks about the oil rigs and other businesses that are bad for the earth. I just think on it and wonder what would I do if this happens in my lifetime? I pray it doesn't happen ever, but we never fully know the future. If you like Dystopian style books I believe you will find this one interesting. Have A Blessed Day!

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Follow the rules. Remember what happened. Never fall in love.
This is the story of seventeen-year-old Prenna James, who immigrated to New York when she was twelve. Except Prenna didn’t come from a different country. She came from a different time—a future where a mosquito-borne illness has mutated into a pandemic, killing millions and leaving the world in ruins.
Prenna and the others who escaped to the present day must follow a strict set of rules: never reveal where they’re from, never interfere with history, and never, ever be intimate with anyone outside their community. Prenna does as she’s told, believing she can help prevent the plague that will one day ravage the earth.
But everything changes when Prenna falls for Ethan Jarves.
From Ann Brashares, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, The Here and Now is thrilling, exhilarating, haunting, and heartbreaking—and a must-read novel of the year.
