Are You A Peculiar Child?

Hello Loverlies! I finally did it, I read Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children. Yes, I am behind at reading this book compared to others. Oh well, I did it now! Wooohoooo!

Miss Peregrine's Home for peculiar children book review

Synopsis From GoodReads:

A mysterious island. An abandoned orphanage. A strange collection of curious photographs. A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous. They may have been quarantined on a deserted island for good reason. And somehow—impossible though it seems—they may still be alive. A spine-tingling fantasy illustrated with haunting vintage photography, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children will delight adults, teens, and anyone who relishes an adventure in the shadows.

My Review: ( a little bit of a spoiler) First off I was not expecting this plot. The teenage boy going after this "Imaginary" world that his grandfather always talked about. Really I didn't know exactly how I thought the plot would have been, to be honest. But it turned out to be a wonderful plot to read. Sadly as Jacob's grandfather was dyeing, he mentions to him a place and date, which sends Jacob asking his parents to go to the place his grandfather grew up. That way he can figure out the clue that was given to him. He discovers the children his grandfather grew up with in a loop. The loops are for reasons of safety. After he starts visiting them, they start to find out the bad things that are out there are getting closer.

At first I was skeptic about finishing the book, but the more I read, the more I wanted to finish the book. I think it is an awesome story, and the author did an amazing job at writing it. I love how he incorporated some old vintage photos and made them real. You know, like actual characters in the story. I am anxious to get into the other two books, also that there is a movie coming out next year! I'm curious if it's going to be a trilogy or mashed all into one movie. If you like books with a bit of a paranormal/fantasy feel to it, this is for you. Have a Blessed Day!
