Art and Celtic Woman

Afternoon Loverlies! My sister in law wanted me to make her a watercolored lotus recently. I thought I would share it with y'all, there isn't much I did to it, but I hope it looks decent. :) Hope y'alls weekend went well! I will leave y'all with the picture and a song from the youtubes you can watch. Have a Blessed Day!

I love listening to Celtic Woman! I think it would be fun to actually be in the group and get to sing.

Oh The Joys of Stencils!

Afternoon Loverlies! I got a chance to review a different genre of book this time called DIY Type Typographic 50 + Stencils perfect for Decorating, Crafting, and Gifting by Dana Tanamachi. I love this book because it gives you neat letter stencils you can use to create anything. There are big and small letters you can cut out to use, also at the back of the book there are a few doodle stencils. In the front of the book the author explains why she created this book, and she also shows ideas on how to use the stencils to help give you inspiration. I can't wait to use these stencils on other types of projects! So far I have only used them on my watercolor paper, in which I have a picture I will post to show you the stencils. This book is well worth getting if you enjoy DIY and crafting. You can find the book to purchase HERE. Have a Blessed Day!

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Inspired by the contemporary aesthetic of rendering type by hand, celebrated designer Dana Tanamachi shares a full set of upper and lower case alphabet stencils to create wall compositions, monogram t-shirts and jackets, personalize journals and school supplies, embroider pillows, and host parties filled with customized cakes and banners. With beautiful photographs and simple tutorials, you’ll find endless ways to decorate with type and joy in discovering the happy imperfections unique to your own application.

Furry Logic

Afternoon Loverlies!I have recently joined this program called Blogging For Books. I am so excited I received my first book from them recently to blog about. This book is the 10th Anniversary Edition of Furry Logic: A Guide to Life's Little Challenges written by Jane Seabrook. It is a cute little book that has these little witty sayings on each page. Along side these sayings are some adorable drawings of animals. It is a very short book, but I enjoyed looking at all the animal drawings. At the end of the book the author explains how she painted them with Watercolor. I would love to paint as well as she has. This book is perfect for having out on the coffee table or for even those who keep books in their bathroom. All you need is to take a quick glance and I'm sure it will help cheer up your day. I took a picture of one of the pages in this book that way you can get a glimpse of how it is. You can purchase this book at RandomHouse.com or even Amazon. Have a Blessed Day!

Synopsis from Goodreads:

No one understands the ups and downs of life's little challenges better than the frisky critters of Furry Logic. The inspirational and tongue-in-cheek advice from series creator Jane Seabrook and her plucky animal characters will tickle the fancy and the funnybone of readers everywhere. Each intricately illustrated spread features a member of the animal kingdom with a unique take on life, from the adorably grumpy owl who advises "Smile first thing in the morning. Get it over with" to the fluffy hawk who admonishes, "If at first you do succeed, try not to look too astonished." So join the original flock of penguins, bears, frogs, and more in celebrating a decade of wit and wisdom with ten new illustrated spreads for fans looking for fresh inspiration.

Just A Doodlin'

Afternoon Loverlies! Those of y'all out there that read my blog. I'm sorry I have been posting not so much. I just have been trying to help my hubby with his schooling and we haven't had much time to get out. Hopefully when he is done we can get out and I can take some pictures. I miss doing my photography. Once my hubby is out of school, we are going to attempt this thing they call exercise again. We should have time to then. I just find it hard to do by myself. I have been better at getting energy to do more cleaning like I used to. It just is hard sometimes because I get a bit depressed and then I feel like what is the point. I just have to try my best to fight through it.

I am so happy it is finally getting cold! I love wearing sweaters and just being all cozy in them. I hope the cold weather is here to stay finally. Here in Arkansas we were still having 70s weather every few days. It is fall and it needs to be cold, OK WEATHER! lol We haven't turned on the heater just yet because I would hate to turn it on and then have more warm days. I need to get out another card to my Grandfather. I decided to make a little zentangle doodley art. I know it's a bit girly, but I am not the best at making manly drawings. I just hope he enjoys it. I used water colors to color it. I purchased some palettes for my watercolors, but they are taking forever to dry in the palettes. I guess it's the type of watercolors? I have no clue. As long as I can use them, then I guess it works. lol I purchased these palettes for about 4 dollars each at Walmart. Alrighty, enough of the talking and on to the pictures. Have a Blessed day!

What I did for my Grandad

I didn't know that you need to wash the palettes before using them. I am going to have to wash the little trays without messing up my watercolors. I learned you needed to do this form a youtube I watched the other day. So when you buy a new palette make sure to wash them. ;) lol

Art Is Anything And Everything

Hey There Loverlies! I just wanted to share some art with y'all today! My friend (sissy) Missy drew a chibi drawing of me and mailed it to me around my birthday. I love this little drawing it's so cute! She even included my monster hat that I actually have in real life. I am ready for cold weather, because I do want to wear it in public. lol I do not care if folks think it is a bit, not my age, I am going to wear what makes me happy. Since Missy was so generous at sending me a drawing, I decided to draw her. I seriously cannot draw realistic people. My drawings come out looking like dolls, but that's okay. As I said in my last post LOVING ART, anything can be art, It just depends on the person viewing it. Because what I view as art someone else may view it as not being art. I also decided to put mine and missys' drawing in the Waterlogue app. I was curious what it would look like and I love it! This app is so beautiful! :) It is worth buying it for $2.99. I will put a button at the bottom of this post that will take you to this app. Really all I have to gab about today.  I hope your day is going well! Have a blessed day!
